Vulture Safe - A Medical Shop Owner's Proactive Efforts ✨🌟 🌿

Today I received a photo of a poster from G. Manojkumar, Sri Kumaran Medical's, who is also an executive member of the Sulur Taluk Drug Store Owners Association. The poster, which is displayed on the door of his medical shop, lists banned veterinary medicines and those that require a veterinary prescription, all of which are drugs that are harmful to vultures.

He said that Mr Prakash, the drug inspector, has instructed us to put up notices outside medical shops.I appreciate the proactive involvement of the Drug Inspector and the medical shop owners of Sulur Taluk, including Kumaran Medicals. It is interesting to note that both the Drug Inspector and Mr Manoj had participated in the awareness tour for the medical shop owners organised by Arulagam and the Tamil Nadu State Forest Department last year. His enthusiasm was evident when he took a selfie with a vulture painting in Moyar. We thank him on behalf of Arulagam and all vulture enthusiasts.

We request all medical shops in Coimbatore, Erode and Nilgiris to display this notice prominently and refrain from dispensing these medicines to animals.

'Arulagam' was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organisation in honour and memory of Mr. Arulmozhi, who inspired many of his friends, including ourselves – the members of Arulagam – through his commitment to environmental conservation. We believe that regardless of its value to humanity, every form of life and its ecosystem is unique.
